I need a little advice, I'm making a wedding cake and she wants this wavy/swirly type of texture to the frosting somewhat like this:

Probably closer to the 2nd one

So here is my question, what is the best way to get such a texture, do you just put on lots of extra frosting and swosh it around with a spatula or a spoon or is there an actual tecnique to this? I've just never done it and I can't decide how to approach it.

This is a cake I did for a team entering The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. They were having a fundraising party so I donated a cake and they put out my business cards. It was a good way to get my name out a little bit in my neighbourhood.

I was so tired, it was the day after my daughter's high school graduation (who, by the way, was on the honour roll and I am SO proud) and I stayed up very late the night before to finish the cakes.
